Term of Service - Senior Command Officers

Effective July 1, 2002 the position of Theater Commander, Army Commander, Corps Commander, Commandant of VMI and CSA Chief of Staff shall each have a term of office.  Date of said term to be displayed at this site (see above).

No officer shall feel "locked" into his position and at the time of term expiration a commander may step down from his position.  He may, of course, extend his service by another term, and can serve many terms at his option.
